Get started with Preorders

Offering preorders can be a game-changer for your online business. It allows you to generate sales even before your products are physically in stock. This article guides you through the 4 steps of the onboarding flow to help you set up preorders, ensuring you can start capitalizing on customer demand right away.

Enable the App Embed



Create your first offer

Navigate to Preorders: Go to the Preorders section in your dashboard, then click on 'Offer' followed by 'Add new offer'.



Guided Setup: Follow the 5 self-guided sections that include setting up the name of the offer, selecting the products, payment, shipping, and confirmation of the working of Preorders, clicking 'Next' to proceed through each step of the offer setup.



Add a product to your first offer

Select Product Variants: In the 'Products' tab, click on 'Select variants' to choose the products you want to offer for preorder. Note: The products selected must be out of stock



Enable Continued Selling: If the 'Continue selling when out of stock' setting isn’t enabled for your chosen products, you can easily activate it by selecting 'Update all'. This is a required setting to be enabled for Preorders. You can also choose to enable the 'continue selling when out of stock' setting from your Shopify admin.




Test Your Preorder Setup

Place a Preorder: To ensure everything is set up correctly, visit your store as a customer would and place a preorder. This test helps verify that the process is working smoothly and that customers will have a seamless experience when ordering.


Setting up preorders is a straightforward process that can significantly boost your sales by allowing customers to order products before they are back in stock. By following these steps, you can efficiently manage preorders and ensure your customers are satisfied with their purchasing experience.
