Use a branded link for sending SMS alerts

When customers receive an SMS back in stock alert from Restock Rocket, it'll have a purchase link that looks like this - "https://app.restockrocket.io/XXXX". This is a short link that redirects the customer to your store.

You can change it so that the purchase link starts with your store domain. With your domain in the link, your customers will see a more recognizable notification, enhancing their trust and engagement with your brand.

To set this up, you need to change settings in Restock Rocket and in Shopify admin. Read on to learn more.

To set up Restock Rocket to use your store domain in SMS links, follow these steps:

Go to the left menu bar of the App and select 'Notifications'.
Click on 'Customize SMS'. This will take you to the SMS template tab.
Navigate to the 'Purchase link' section. Here, you'll be able to see the default appearance of the link in the SMS.

Click on 'Use store domain in purchase link'.
A drop-down will appear with two options for the SMS link suffix: '/apps/restockrocket-production' and '/a/restock'. Select the one that best suits your preferences.
Save your changes.
Now, you'll notice the chosen suffix in both the 'Link appearance' and the SMS template displayed on the right side of the screen.
Make note of the "app proxy settings" link located underneath the dropdown. You need to click on this link in the next section.

Set Up App Proxy in Shopify Admin

To ensure Shopify understands the link setup, follow these steps:

Click on the 'app proxy settings' link located below the SMS link suffix section in Restock Rocket.
This will redirect you to Shopify admin settings, specifically to 'Apps & sales channels' > 'App proxy' for Restock Rocket.
Click on 'Customize URL'.

Ensure that the URL matches the SMS link suffix you chose earlier in Restock Rocket. That is, if you selected '/a/restock' earlier, make sure to select that here too.
After making sure they match, click 'Save'.
Go back to Restock Rocket and verify the SMS link in the template.
